News

This week's challenge is..............

To read your book in the most interesting place. Read it on the beach, on a slide, inside a tent etc. Upload it to tapestry or bring in a photo when school starts back.

Harvest Assembly Thank you for coming to the harvest assembly. It was well attended and the children sang confidently. Thank you also for all the donations received. They are being sent to the Herts Young Homeless charity.

Also add any other celebrations that are happening to the children including birthdays, Diwali, Fireworks, and Halloween etc. If it is something important to them then it is important to us.

Special Week

Each week 4 children will be selected for a special week. During this week we will focus on these children in particular and explore their interests. On Friday at the end of their special week the parents are invited in and your child will give you a guided tour of their learning environment and show you what they have been up to.

For special week the children are allowed to bring in some items that are important to them. These will be items to share (so nothing too expensive). Also make a poster with your child that is all about them including favourite things to do or any special events that have happened etc. WC: Monday 31st October RAE Bryony Charlie Emilija RAM Carly David Elliz

Reading The homework for this half term break is to read their book. Celebrate them getting their first book by having them read it to anybody and everybody including grandparents, pets, teddies etc. Please sign their books and comment on how they got on (1 signature is fine to cover the half term) There is a challenge to read your book in the most interesting place over the half term. Please take a photo and add it to tapestry or bring it in when school starts again As you read, make sure that the children are pointing to each word as they say it. Get them to try unknown words before giving it to them e.g. ask them ‘what does it start with?’ Don't forget that the story is also important so ask the children what happened at the start or end? Did they like the story? Why? If they didn't....why not?
