There was likeways prefented to the prelbytery, at this diet, a pe tition from leveral perfons whofe names appeared at the other petiti on given in by Mr Brodie, retracing their fubfcriptions from that paper, becaufe they had been impofed u-pon, having been made to be lieve that it only prayed for a hearing of the prefcntce; whereas it not only prayed for a hearing of him, but that the prelbytery would take proper Heps for his fertlement, which lalt they by no means in tended to apply for, and there was at this time prefented a third pe tition, praying for a hearing of Mr John Snodgrafs preacher of the ,gofpel at Glafgow. The prelbytery then appointed a diet for the prefentee to preach before them, and to produce his licence and tellimonial.
