Relevant Experience The following two projects demonstrates Fred T. Smith & Associates, Inc.’s (“FTS”) experience in architectural and engineering design of containers. Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (“SCADA”) Buildings FTS’ Supervising Engineer designed 100 SCADA buildings along 1,400 miles of the Ethylene pipeline project in the Middle East. SCADA buildings play an important role in petrochemical projects and highway and traffic monitoring as they hold expensive equipment that are very sensitive to temperature variations, and requires the highest standards and qualities for their shelter. The intricate design ensured that the SCADA buildings were able to withstand the fluctuations between extreme heat and extreme cold.
Our experience with the SCADA buildings demonstrates that containers are both reliable, and flexible; two very important requirements for sustainable design.
Conducted by FTS
Relevant Experience (Framing) ◊ Light Steel Framing was designed to withstand damage during earthquakes. ◊
Similar project executed by FTS
Relevant Experience The Royal Netherlands Embassy FTS designed a light steel frame around the structure so that the project was able to have a Sandwich panel as façade for maintaining thermal insulation. We recommended the use of composite sheets in one side of the sandwich panel instead of steel plates which made both façade and insulation, resulting in decreased project cost.
Capabilities Containers are designed to carry heavy loads, to resist harsh environments and can be stacked in high columns.
FTS is available to deliver the following engineering services: ◊ ◊ ◊ ◊
