Tammy introduced Coach Innarella as the new Girls Varsity Head Coach Overview of Freedom Lacrosse – Founded 4 years ago by parents. Tammy gave a brief rundown of how the program was established. We are recognized as a Varsity sport and are members of the PIAA & LVC. All team and club information will be located on our new Website. Meetings are once a month, all year long. We want feedback from parents at any time. A survey is taken at the end of the season. Some of our successes. We have many seniors that are being aggressively recruited by college programs, one player, Macey Walker, committed to DII Millersville University as a Junior (last year). We are trying to have a game vs. Liberty at the end of the season, and celebrate senior night at the Bethlehem Stadium. LAX DAY – we are always looking for parents to volunteer. This is a huge event, we need help. We have plenty of committees that we need help with – please volunteer. U.S. Lacrosse memberships are mandatory for all players. This provides insurance for each player and liability coverage for the Club, Coaches and facilities where we practice. ImPACT grant from Dicks Sporting Goods has expired. This year, each player will get baseline testing through FHS Athletic Trainers - must take this test before the season begins. This is an online concussion test. Season starts March 3, 2014. First official practice. We will be running clinics this fall at Freedom (free), and playing indoors this winter in a league at the Pocono Dome (cost estimate at $180-200 per player). Our coaches are running these programs. Players will be able to use free equipment from the club (with a deposit check). The required deposit for the boys equipment is $200.00, the girls is $100.00. Checks will not be cashed, and returned at the end of the season if the equipment is returned and in good condition.
Lake Lehman tournaments will be held after the clinics are complete. The fees will be paid by Freedom Lacrosse. This will be a 7 vs. 7 format. The girls tournament will be Nov. 3, and the boys Nov. 10. Registration can be done by way of our website. This is a PAY TO PARTICIPATE program. The varsity teams play to win. The Head Coaches will make all personnel decisions. Treasurers Report – Gail Current Balance as of 8/31/13 6,927.63 We increased our coaches’ salaries. Fundraising is mandatory – it is our only way to cover expenses. All Player Fees ($450.00) must be paid by December 31. Payments will be made via our website. $250 can be recouped (per player) through the sale of Raffle and Car Wash tickets. Opportunities are available to aid everyone in paying these dues. Please speak to Gail if you have a hardship. We encourage that everyone get involved with our fundraising activities. Budget – Based on 60 players. Kevin makes a motion to pass the 2013-2014 Budget. Voting is unanimous to pass the budget. FLCB offers community service to our players. Secretary’s Report – Kevin Please sign up as a parent, player or friend of Freedom Lacrosse on our website. We ask that you write legibly when you fill out the forms. We want to make sure that you receive our emails and other correspondences’. Vice-President – Rob Skae We are part of the Patriot Club. We will get a profit sharing. We will need approximately 8 ADULT volunteers to work the snack stand at a football game for the Patriot Club. Liberty vs. Central Catholic Oct. 14, 2013. We will also need to work a basketball game. Date TBD Booster Club - Lucy If anyone has any ideas we would love to hear from you.
Our goal is to bring in revenue from outside sources. 1st car wash will be 9/22/13 from 12pm-3pm Other ideas are a Freedom Lacrosse Night at Dorney Park. We are looking at 10/19/13 for this event. Tickets for players will be $23.00. This will be a great opportunity for our players to bond and have some fun. Some other fundraising ideas are: A Santa Breakfast, a lotto calendar, a Spring Car Wash, Dinner at Wayback Burger, and the preseason youth clinic are all being discussed. All help is greatly appreciated. Coaches Report – Boys Team - Patrick First fall clinic started today. We had 13 boys show up, mostly the “hard core” players from last year. Patrick would like to see a better turnout, especially younger guys. Clinics are on Thursdays and Sundays. (East Hills M.S.) Players will take a “College Approach” and have practice uniforms which will be included in the dues. Order will be placed on 1/15/13. Girls Team – Michele The girls had 17 players show up for their 1st clinic and 14 girls for their 2nd clinic. Girls are working on basic skills and conditioning. Open Discussion The cost of registration was discussed in comparison to other programs (Saucon Valleys) youth program. As a lacrosse team we should be supporting the program that is helping us (U.S. Lacrosse) If we do get absorbed by the BASD, then we would turn into a Booster Club. All our assets that we have purchased or received via grants would be donated back into the school system. The BASD is taking our players very seriously. Our players have been very well behaved and stay out of trouble.
