French Navy Quilt Double Prism Blocks
Four-Patch Center Blocks
Note: Use a ¼" seam allowance for all stitching.
1. Sew a 3 ½" white strip lengthwise together with a 3 ½" cream/coral leaf strip to make a strip set. Press seam toward the leaf strip. Crosscut the strip set into (20) 2" coral A segments. Repeat with 3 ½" white and navy leaf strips to make a strip set and cut into (20) 2" navy A segments.
1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of each 3 ½" white square. 2. Place a marked square on 1 corner of a 6 ½" navy floral square. Stitch on the marked line. Trim seam to ¼". Press the white corner to the right side. Repeat on the opposite corner of the navy floral square to complete (1) 6 ½" x 6 ½" Floral Double Prism block. Repeat to make 12 blocks total.
3. Repeat step 2 with marked white squares and the 6 ½" coral/navy chevron squares to make (12) 6 ½" x 6 ½" Coral Double Prism blocks. Repeat step 2 with the remaining marked squares and the 6 ½" denim/navy chevron squares to make (6) 6 ½" x 6 ½" Blue Double Prism blocks.

2. Stitch a 2" white strip lengthwise together with a 2" cream/coral leaf strip to make a strip set. Press seam toward the leaf strip. Crosscut the strip set into (20) 2" coral B segments. Repeat with 2" white and navy leaf strips to cut (20) 2" navy B segments. 3. Sew a 2" light coral texture strip lengthwise together with a 2" dark coral texture strip to make a strip set. Press seam toward the dark coral strip. Crosscut the strip set into (20) 2" coral C segments. Repeat with 2" cream/denim leaf and navy texture strips to cut (20) 2" navy C segments. 4. Join 2 coral C segments to make a 3 ½" four-patch center unit. Press seam to 1 side. Stitch a coral B segment to opposite sides of the center unit to make the 3 ½" x 6 ½" center row. Press seams toward the four-patch center unit. Sew a coral A segment to opposite long sides of the center row to complete (1) 6 ½" x 6 ½" Coral Four-Patch Center block. Press seams toward the A segments. Repeat to make 10 blocks total.

French Navy Quilt 5. Join 2 navy C segments to make a 3 ½" four-patch center unit. Press seam to 1 side. Stitch a navy B segment to opposite sides of the center unit to make the 3 ½" x 6 ½" center row. Press seams toward the four-patch center unit. Sew a navy A segment to opposite long sides of the center row to complete (1) 6 ½" x 6 ½" Navy Four-Patch Center block. Press seams toward the A segments. Repeat to make 10 blocks total.
3. Sew the 1 ½" x WOF dark coral texture strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side. Cut into (2) 51 ½" strips and (2) 45" strips. Sew the 51 ½" strips to the long sides of the quilt center and the 45" strips to the top and bottom. Press seams toward the strips. 4. Sew the 2" x WOF white tonal strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side. Cut into (2) 53 ½ strips and (2) 48" strips for second border and (2) 61 ½" and (2) 56" strips for the fourth border. Stitch the 53 ½" strips to the long sides of the quilt center and the 48" strips to the top and bottom. Press seams toward the strips. 5. Sew the 3" x WOF navy floral strips short ends together to make a long strip. Press seams to 1 side. Cut into (2) 56 ½" strips and (2) 53" strips. Stitch the 56 ½" strips to the long sides and the 53" strips to the top and bottom. Press seams toward the strips. 6. Sew the 61 ½" white tonal strips to the long sides and the 53" strips to the top and bottom. Press seams toward the strips to complete the quilt top. 7. Remove the selvage edges from the backing pieces. Join the pieces on the long edges with a ½" seam allowance. Press seam open. Trim the top and bottom edges to make a 63" x 72" backing piece. The seam will be side to side on the back of the quilt. 8. Layer, quilt, and bind using your favorite methods and the navy texture binding strips to complete the quilt.
Navy Four-Patch Center Block Make 10 Quilt Assembly Note: Refer to the exploded quilt center diagram and the exploded quilt diagram throughout the following steps. 1. Arrange the Double Prism and Four-Patch Center blocks in 10 diagonal rows with the 9 ¾" white setting triangles and the 5 ⅛" white corner triangles referring to the exploded quilt center diagram. Sew the blocks and triangles into the rows. Press all seams away from the Double Prism blocks. 2. Join the rows to complete the 43" x 51 ½" quilt center. Press seams to 1 side.
