1. LAST DAY FOR Clothing Drive: We've had a warm winter so far, but it's still cold if you're living on the streets. Please bring in clean, gently used men's pants, sweaters, sweats, jackets, caps, gloves and shoes this week for distribution to people on Manhattan's streets during the Builders Club’s Midnight Run TONGIHT. (We can also use a few warm women's items, but not as many.) Thank you! (LS)

2. Builders Club Members: If you're helping out with Friday's Midnight Run in any capacity, please see Ms. Schutt by today for a permission slip.

3. All Students: The Senior Class will be selling Heart Grams during lunch periods from Monday 2/6 to Thursday 2/8. Send your friends a valentine message and carnation. At an invitational tournament this past weekend, the Academic Challenge Club walked away with another first place finish in the A division. The team is now ranked # 1 in the region. Congratulations to James Brandfonbrener, Vivek Rao Pothuraju, Federico Reyes Gomez, and Jocelyn Wexler!! (JS) 11. Honors Qualifying Essay: 9th, 10th, and 11th graders interested in possibly entering an English honors or Advanced Senior class next year, please come to the LGI at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, 2/8. You will be asked to read a short piece of literature and write an essay in response. P.S. It's a good idea to discuss your interest with your English teacher first! (LS) 12. There will be a special session of the Curriculum Review Committee held on Wednesday, 2/8 at 3:15 in E7. 13. Attention students 9-12: Save the date! EHS Spring Semi-formal is 3/31/17. More details to follow! (MM) 14. EdgeMUN IV: Edgemont's very own Model UN Conference will be held on Saturday, 4/1. Interested students in grades 8-12 may register in the cafeteria during periods 4,5,6 on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays from 2/6 through 2/17. Cost of registration is $20 and includes lunch. Cash or checks accepted (checks should be made out to ESAF). (C.Cecere) 15. Phaedrus Final Project presentations will be open for visits from prospective ASchool applicants TODAY through Friday, 2/10. 16. Recycling tip: The more you pay attention, the more paper recycling opportunities there are. Recyclable paper includes: magazines and catalogs, telephone books, direct mail, brochures, pamphlets and booklets in addition to cereal, cake, chip, cracker and other food boxes. Be sure to remove the liner and all food from the box, flatten the box and place it in a paper sack with your junk mail, mixed paper, magazines and catalogs. (DG)

18. The NYSUT Food Bank Drive is taking place again this year TODAY- Monday, 2/13. Collection boxes will be in the front entrance to school. Suggested items:  Canned goods: tuna, salmon, chicken, stew, chili, beans, fruits, vegetables, soups.  Plastic containers (NO GLASS): peanut butter, jams and jelly, juices (not refrigerated), (ketchup, mustard, etc.)  Personal Hygiene—toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, soap. PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN ANY PERISHABLE ITEMS or GOODS CONTAINED IN GLASS. (RC)
