We will use hands-on activities to help you plan for and defuse typical conflicts in your group. Ohio Room) Pinning with a Purpose - Jenna Bartak, Brianna Hayes, Savanna Ramsey This presentation will highlight the importance of utilizing Pinterest for the purpose of an RSO. The presenters will explain the social media website, Pinterest, and provide the audience with a clear definition of the website. The next section will focus on the importance of using Pinterest for the specific use of RSOs. This section will provide examples of how RSOs can utilize Pinterest for marketing, brand development, and networking, as well as how to assess the success of your Pinterest page. Missouri/Kaskaskia) How to run an Effective Meeting - Brandon Tanner The importance of conducting an effective meeting, as well as the steps to take to present an effective meeting. Ballroom A) More Action, Less Title: Empowering Student Leaders To Do More - James Robilatta Break-Out James’ keynote with new energy and key concepts to increase retention, boost morale and help your organization do great things on campus that will continue beyond college! James believes “empowerment” has become a flippant term thrown around student organizations, but he will help leaders breathe new life into the act of empowering others by challenging them to do better through a three-part strategy: challenging, motivating and appreciating others.

This workshop will present basic motions and rules of parliamentary procedure with a brief practice session. Ohio Room) Teamwork! It’s all about Math - Deborah Barnett Many times, teamwork is essential to accomplishing a task, expanding an idea, or fulfilling a dream. The value of teamwork can be realized through basic math concepts of multiplication and division. Missouri/Kaskaskia) Leaving a Legacy of Leadership - Michael Uphoff, Jared Pfeiffer In this presentation we will discuss methods of leaving a legacy behind that will carry your organization to success long after you leave the organization. Ballroom A) Black Male Initiative: Rising to Excellence - Marvin Ledell Dixon This workshop highlights the student leadership behind SIU's first Black Male Initiative. Hear from students as they discuss and share leadership strategies.

Learn how following is more important than leading. Ohio Room) SIU Alumni Network: Take Advantage to get ahead in your upcoming career - Laura Taylor, Jamie Conley-Holt The SIU Alumni Association and SIU Career Services team up to give you advise about utilizing the SIU alumni network to get ahead before graduation. It's never too early to make contacts and brush up on your real world skills. Missouri/Kaskaskia) Risk Management Policy- Understanding the IGC Policy - Andy Morgan Learn how to reduce your risk & Liability by following the Inter-Greek Council Risk Management Policy for 3rd party vendors & BYOB policies. Safe Zone Training - Wendy Weinhold This program will help LGBTQ allies understand the intersections of identities and work to respect all people, regardless of gender identity and sexual orientation. Participants will learn about the history of LGBT culture at SIU and campus resources for LGBTQ folks and their allies.

But what is behind the mask of professionalism that can make all these roles and responsibilities your strength Ohio) Sustainable Salukis - Kris Schachel Learn how easy it is to be green at SIU! Campus Sustainability Coordinator Kris Schachel will share information on opportunities for campus engagement and also tips on implementing sustainability actions into everyday life. Missouri/Kaskaskia) Greek PRide - Andy Morgan Group activity to get your ideas and brainstorm ideas on how to promote and market our fraternity and sorority community. Ohio) Greek Standard Evaluation - Andy Morgan Get to the bottom of the Who? What? Where? When? and Why? of Greek Standards! Missouri/Kaskaskia) You Better Recognize! - Jac Jewell This program will teach people how to recognize and raise morale among fellow members and teach effective methods to give constructive feedback and award positive behaviors. Ballroom A) Seeing what's not there: What it means to have a real vision and how it can transform your organization - Charles Andrean Having trouble getting your members up on Saturday mornings to attend that community service event? As much as you tried recruiting them, did those potential new members simply fall out of your grasp? Are your senior members "checking out" a litter earlier than expected and leaving your group shorthanded? There is one way to start solving all of these problems- with a clear and dynamic vision. In this interactive workshop, you'll learn what a vision statement is, why it is important, and how to design your own.
