Gadsden High School NAVY JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICERS TRAINING CORPS 6301 HIGHWAY 28 ANTHONY, NM 88021 575-882-6328

Dear Parents, A course in Marksmanship will be offered to cadets during the 2016-2017 school year. This instruction will include the firing of .177 cal (4.5mm) pellet target air rifles at an indoor rifle range. All Instruction and firing will be under the supervision of a qualified instructor. Our rifle team will be practicing on the campus at Gadsden High School. Our reserved range time is from 1600-1800 on Tuesday and Thursday each week. Each cadet will be assigned to a 40 min session on one of those days. Due to the large number of shooters, it is important that the cadets are present at their appointed sessions. Rifles, ammunition, targets, and safety equipment are furnished by the NJROTC unit at no cost to the student. Cadets will be training to represent the unit in the various competitive air rifle matches during the school year. Student participation in the Air Rifle Team activity is voluntary. If you desire for your son/daughter to participate on or air rifle team, the release from responsibility statement below must be signed and on file with the NJROTC Unit before the student will be allowed to fire the target weapons. Sincerely,

Mark Morrell, LCDR, USN, (Ret) Gadsden High School NJROTC Senior Naval Science Instructor If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 575-882-6328.
