*In 4th gear Ø The declared fuel/energy consumptions, CO2 emissions and electric range are measured according to the technical requirements and specifications of the European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended. Fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are specified for a vehicle variant and not for a single car. The applied standard test procedure enables comparison between different vehicle types and different manufacturers. In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as other non-technical factors play a role in determining a car's fuel/energy consumption, CO2 emissions and electric range. CO2 is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming. A guide on fuel economy and CO2 emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models is available at any point of sale free of charge or can be downloaded under http://carfueldata.dft.gov.uk/.
From 1 September 2017, certain new vehicles will be type-approved using the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), which is a new, more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. From 1 September 2018 the WLTP will fully replace the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC), which is the current test procedure. During NEDC Phase-out, WLTP fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are being correlated back to NEDC and will be shown as CO2mPas figures. There will be some variance to the previous fuel economy and emissions as some elements of the tests have altered i.e., same car might have different reported fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. From 1 September 2017, certain new vehicles will be type-approved using the World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP), which is a new, more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. From 1 September 2018 the WLTP will fully replace the New European Drive Cycle (NEDC), which is the current test procedure. During NEDC Phase-out, WLTP fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are being correlated back to NEDC and will be shown as CO2mPas figures. There will be some variance to the previous fuel economy and emissions as some elements of the tests have altered i.e., same car might have different reported fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The delivery charge is included in the Basic Recommended Retail Price and is made on all models for delivery to the Dealer's premises. Where delivery is not made to the customer at the Dealer's premises a further charge may be made by the Dealer. The Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) charged on new cars is based on their engine's CO2 emissions* (expressed in grams per kilometre (g/km)). All CO2 emissions figures in g/km are from officially approved tests under the Passenger Car (Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001 and in accordance with European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended. During NEDC Phase-out, WLTP fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are being correlated back to NEDC and will be shown as CO2mPas figures. There will be some variance to the previous fuel economy and emissions as some elements of the tests have altered i.e., same car might have different reported fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The delivery charge is included in the Basic Recommended Retail Price and is made on all models for delivery to the Dealer's premises. Where delivery is not made to the customer at the Dealer's premises a further charge may be made by the Dealer. The Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) charged on new cars is based on their engine's CO2 emissions* (expressed in grams per kilometre (g/km)). All CO2 emissions figures in g/km are from officially approved tests under the Passenger Car (Fuel Consumption and CO2 Emissions Information) Regulations 2001 and in accordance with European Regulations (EC) 715/2007 and (EC) 692/2008 as last amended. The chart above shows the Bands and the VED which will be levied (for vehicles registered from 1st April 2018 onwards). If a car's list price is over £40,000 (including VAT and factory fitted options) at first registration, the customer will pay an additional VED charge (currently £310) for five years after the end of the first registration (in addition to the standard VED charge per year, currently £140).
