GALLERY CALENDAR FALL 2014
Ford Gallery hosts emerging artist and student shows. With about 1,000 square feet for exhibition space, its primary mission is to serve the needs of the students of the Art Department with innovative, contemporary shows that are relevant to their coursework and degrees. Ford Gallery is located in Ford Hall, the home of the Art Department.
University Gallery hosts regional, national and international shows. With about 2,000 square feet of exhibition space, its primary mission is to advance thought and discussion among the University population as well as the Southeastern Michigan arts community. University Gallery is located in the Student Center, the heart of EMU’s campus.

A new juried exhibition that seeks to highlight and reconnect alumni and alumnae of EMU’s Art Department, this exhibition promises a detailed look at the recent art activity of these individuals and will showcase their creative talents.
NASAD Art Exhibition 10/12 - 10/15
This exhibition will showcase student work from the BFA program for accreditation by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).

Featuring the work of graduating BFA candidates, this all media show is organized, curated and installed entirely by students in the Capstone class and serves to highlight their respective bodies of work.

The Great Lakes Drawing Biennial is a juried show open to all artists in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, New York and Pennsylvania. Hosted by Eastern Michigan University once every two years, it will highlight current artistic activity in contemporary drawing. The 2014 Great Lakes Drawing Biennial is juried by Jason Franz, founding Director and Chief Curator for Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center.
New Fibers 2014 Rec: 10/27 - 12/10

A national juried exhibition featuring contemporary fiber art in a broad range of forms. Works selected will include pieces rooted in traditional and contemporary approaches to fiber art. New Fiber 2014 is juried by Prof. Brooks Stevens, head of EMU’s fiber program. New Fibers 2014 is organized and sponsored by Fiber Arts Network of Michigan (FAN).

Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center Halle Library Room 300 10/2 (5:30-7) A curator, educator and visual artist, Jason Franz serves as the founding Executive Director and Chief Curator for Manifest Creative Research Gallery and Drawing Center. He will present and participate in Q&A on Manifest's origins, programs, and creative vision.
Graem Whyte and Faina Lerman Popps Packing

Located on the northern Hamtramck/Detroit border, Popps Packing was founded in 2007 by husband and wife team, Graem Whyte (sculptor and architectural dabbler) and Faina Lerman (painter and performance artist). Popps Packing serves as a hybrid home, studio, and experimental arts venue aimed at promoting dialog and cultural exchange between the local, national and international communities. Graem Whyte and Faina Lerman will be jurying the EMU Annual Jurried Student Show in January 2015.
AMA Studio Walk Art Department Buildings

Hosted by the Arts Masters Association (AMA), the AMA Studio Walk provides an opportunity to get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into working artists’ studios, the art making process and the equipment and facilities of the Art Department at EMU.

I.G.G. (INTERMEDIA GALLERY GROUP) IGG maintains and runs the Student Gallery at EMU’s Student Center. As one of the first student-run galleries in the nation, IGG organizes exhibitions for student artists and holds art-related events for EMU’s community.

Vandalog began in October 2008 as an online place for people to keep up to date on what’s going on with street art. Today, its focus is on coverage of street art, graffiti, and viral art globally. RJ is a 20-something living in Philadelphia and the founder and editor in chief of Vandalog. RJ is currently working for the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts program and is the artist liaison for The L.I.S.A. Project NYC.
