Now here’s the simple genius behind Ratio® Tuned Machine Heads: We tuned the gear ratio in each machine head to the specific string, so now every string responds equally to any tuning adjustment. No more overshooting the G string or twisting forever on the high E – just quicker tuning, retuning and open tuning because each string has its own “custom” tuned gear. What’s so cool about Ratio is that when every string tunes the same, tuning gets so much easier and so much quicker. “Ratio tuning®” feels natural; you don’t have to think about which string you’re tuning - they all tune and feel the same. With the gear ratios from 12:1 to 39:1 you get a range of coarse to fine tuning on the precise string that needs it.
