The GPD / PAAL Cadet Program is a worksite-based program for young men and women who are 13 through 18 years old and interested in learning more about a career in the criminal justice field.

Garner Police Department / PAAL Cadet Program GPD Cadets The Garner Police Department / PAAL Cadet Program was formerly known as the GPD Explorer Program. This program is for students between the ages of 13 and 18 who have a desire to learn more about law enforcement and the criminal justice field. We want to show students that there are so many avenues in law enforcement and in the criminal justice system for them to pursue.
Meetings include topics such as canine team demonstrations, communications and courtroom center tours, criminal investigations, crime scene investigations, hostage negotiations, vehicle stops, and much more.
To show this, we meet twice a month with presentations from GPD Officers, SBI Agents,
Get Exposed to Law Enforcement and Other Criminal Justice Fields and Careers The GPD / PAAL Cadet Program is geared to teach young adults about the different fields, not just in law enforcement, but in the criminal justice system. Most people hear criminal justice and think of the police, however, there are so many different fields in the criminal justice system and this program will give the students the knowledge and information they need about these different career paths, including but not limited to: - College / Specialized Training, - Experience, and
Community Projects and Special Events include July 3rd Celebration, Adopt-a-Highway, Public Safety Day, And Shop with a Cop.

FBI Agents, Attorneys from the District Attorney’s Office, NC Wildlife, US Marshals, and other Criminal Justice Agency Officials. Our Cadets also help in community projects and special events in the Town of Garner.
