Gas Seal Tape The color-coded, high density Teflon thread sealing tape developed specially for the gas industry. Unasco Gas Seal Tape is manufactured to the highest density (1.5g/cm3) of any Teflon thread sealing tape on the market. Ordinary Teflon tape has been stretched during the manufacturing process as a cost cutting measure. Stretching lowers the density of the tape by increasing it poracity. It is not uncommon to find Teflon tape stretched 600% and more with a void volume greater than 80%. Unasco Gas Seal Tape in unstretched. As it is nonporous Unasco Gas Seal Tape has the following advantages: • Provides an impenetrable barrier to gases • Holds higher pressures. Not subject to cold flow or collapse • Will not string or shred • Only 3 wraps required • 4 Mil thick for extra sealing efficiency • Color coded so it can be easily distinguished from low density tapes • Clean, nontoxic, inert • Unlimited shelf life.
