2015-16 Student Directory is Now Available The Student Directory for the 2015-16 school year is now available. Copies will be distributed upon request only. Please complete this form by Friday, October 30 if you would like a copy of the directory. Directories will be distributed to students during TLC on Wednesday, November 4.

G.E.M.S.—Girls in Engineering, Math and Science

October 14—26 Yankee Candle and Cherryside Fundraiser October 22-23 No School

UW Fox Valley is offering girls in grades 6-8 a half day educational event on Saturday, November 14. This event features GEMS-based workshops that are geared towards career exploration. Please click here for more information or to register for this event.

Yankee Candle and Cherrydale Fundraiser Runs Through October 26 JRG will be hosting a new fundraiser this year with Yankee Candle and Cherrydale Gifts. The fundraiser kicked off Wednesday, October 14 and will run through Monday, October 26. Product delivery will be Thursday, December 3 at 3:00. More information will be provided in the coming weeks.

October 27 Student Council Meeting—7:00 AM in the Auditorium

While our school district supports JRG in many ways despite a continuing loss of district funding at the state level, there are always needs and extras that must be addressed through outside fundraising. A few examples include:

* Guest speakers and special events * Decreasing the cost for students to attend camp (typically we offset the total cost by about $4000 per year) * Decreasing the costs of ROCKS events * A new gym sound system (being installed in phases) * School beautification projects such as the quotes in our hallways * ...and many other things that either benefit students or meet particular student needs that arise throughout the year.

Collecting Homework Due to Illness If

your student is missing school days due to illness and you would like to gather homework, please have your student check their Google Classroom account or email the teachers directly (eg. Joe Smith would be [email protected]). Teachers can then drop off any assignments in the office for you to collect.

7th Grade Vision Screening October 27 All 7th graders will go through vision screening on Tuesday, October 27 during their lunch period. Please remind your student to wear their glasses or contacts that day if prescribed.

Veteran’s Day Ceremony—Wednesday, November 11 JRG will be hosting a school wide ceremony honoring our Veterans on Wednesday, November 11 at 9:45—11:15 in the large gym. Community members are always welcome at this event. Essay winners will present their writing, and our band and choir students will be performing.

Parent –Teacher Conferences on November 11 and 12 Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, November 11 and 12 from 5:00-8:00PM. Students will have a 2:00 release on Wednesday only. Conferences are on a first come, first served basis and last approximately 5 minutes per teacher. If you feel you will need more time to discuss your student’s progress, please contact the teacher to set up a meeting. More information will be available in the coming weeks.

Emergency Medications Please be aware that emergency medications that are provided for use during the school day will not be accessible after school hours. Parents and students plan ahead to have emergency medication available during after school activities such as clubs and sports. If an emergency arises and a student does not have their emergency medication available, 911 will be called.
