Gen Arthur J. Lichte, USAF (Ret) Chairman of the Board As Chairman of the Board, Gen Lichte is the Chief Executive Officer of the Association and presides over all Board meetings, the Business Meeting of the National Convention, and other special meetings. The Chairman assigns specific duties to Board members, as he deems appropriate. Gen Lichte is a native of New York City, born and raised in the Shadows of Yankee Stadium. He completed over 38 years of service to the Air Force and retired in the rank of General, USAF, on 1 January 2010. In his last assignment he was the Commander of Air Mobility Command, responsible for organizing, training, and equipping the Mobility Forces. He provided rapid global mobility and sustainment for America’s armed forces and played a crucial role in providing humanitarian support at home and around the world. He was responsible for the 132,000 Total Force Airmen and all the air refueling, air evacuation, and airlift forces to include the Special Airlift Mission responsible for the transportation of the President of the United States among other dignitaries. He is a command pilot with over 5,000 flying hours in every type of mobility aircraft. He has served tours on the staff of the US Transportation Command, Strategic Air Command, the Air Staff and Secretariat, and Air Mobility Command. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Manhattan College, NY; a Master’s Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California; he is a graduate of the National War College, Washington, DC; the Senior Officials in National Security, JFK School of Government, Harvard University; and the Revolution in Business Affairs from the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterrey, Calif. Gen Lichte has a successful consulting business. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He also serves as a Director on the Board of Airbus Group, Defense and Space; and is on the Board of Directors, Air Transport Services Group, and is the National Chairman of the Airlift/Tanker Association. He is married to the former Christine Culhane and they have five children and seven grandchildren.
