General Information 2016 Summer/Fall Coed Softball League 1. The League: A. Maximum of fifty eight (58) teams. (8 or 10 team divisions.) B. Each team plays an eighteen (18) game schedule) in doubleheader format. (Subject to change based on the number of entries.) C. Divisions are based on team skill level, with A being the most skilled and D the most recreational. Please consider the following when registering: Division A- Teams are competitive teams that have likely played together in previous seasons and may travel for additional tournaments. Division B- Teams often have players with competitive experience and have likely played together in previous seasons. High intensity level. Please note- Divisions A and B are not offered for Fall 2016 Division C- Teams may have some players with competitive experience and may have played together in previous seasons. Moderate intensity level. Division D- Teams have few to no players that have ever played beyond a recreational/social league. Low intensity level. Teams with no experience are welcome here. D. Weeknight games are played from approximately 6:00pm until 10:30pm, Saturday games from 9:00am until 5:00pm, and Sunday games from 12:00pm until 7:00pm E. The season will end no later than November 20, 2016 2. Registration Information: A. To register visit- https://www.youthleaguesusa.com/arlington/Registration.html B. Deadline to register- Monday, July 18 at 5:00pm C. Registration opens June 20 for all teams. D. Payment and completed roster must accompany all registrations. i. A minimum of ten (10) players must be rostered to be considered complete. (Coed rosters must have a minimum of five (5) males and five (5) females.) ii. Each rostered player must have an address and phone number listed. iii. Incomplete rosters will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS! 3. Registration Fee: $770.00 per team which includes umpires, ASA fee, field user fee, and awards. All rosters must be comprised of a minimum of 66% Arlington County residents and/or business residents. (A business resident is an individual who works full time in Arlington County.) Residency must be verified with a copy of driver’s license or other acceptable documentation. All teams will be assessed a $30.00 fee for each non-resident and

business resident on the roster. The non-resident fee can be added to the registration fee. Payment can be made online. 4. Dates of Play: A. Starting DatesMonday D August 22, 2016 Tuesday D August 23, 2016 Wednesday C August 24, 2016 Thursday C August 25, 2016 Thursday D August 25, 2016 Saturday D August 27, 2016 Sunday D August 28, 2016 B. Make-up games will be played on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. If make-up slots become available on week nights, they may be used. C. Games will not be played- Labor Day Weekend (September 2- 5) 5. Game Balls: Any ASA approved restricted flight, 12 inch (52-COR, 300 Compression) softball may be used. Each team must provide one new softball for each game. 6. Awards: At the conclusion of the season, the team with the best won-loss record (point system) will receive one (1) team trophy. The second place finishers will receive a team trophy as well. 7. Residency Requirements: All rosters must be comprised of at least sixty six percent (66%) Arlington County residents, and this percentage must be maintained throughout the season. Arlington county business residents count towards the 66% requirement but are required to pay the $30.00 non-resident fee. Each team will be assessed a $30.00 fee for each noncounty resident on the roster. Non-resident fees are non-transferable and nonrefundable. 9. Rosters: Each roster is limited to a maximum of twenty five (25) players. Rosters must include the proper names, addresses, and contact information for all coaches, managers, captains, and players. Nicknames are not acceptable. Only completed rosters will be accepted. Rosters become final October 9, 2016.

10. Mandatory Rules Interpretation Clinic: The annual Adult Softball Rules Interpretation Clinic will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in the Fairlington Community Center located at 3308 South Stafford Street from 7:00-8:30pm. The clinic will be conducted by a representative from the Old Dominion Softball Umpires Association. Each team must have a representative in attendance. Please be prompt. 11. Umpires: Arlington County Parks and Recreation has contacted with Old Dominion Softball Umpires Association (ODSUA). ODSUA schedules umpires for all league and tournament games, one umpire per game.
