16. Leadline—10 & Under; Handler must be at least 18 years of age *Points to count towards Western and English Championships regardless of attire. **Sweepstakes Classes: $10 entry fee per class (not included in day fee). 100% payback to entrants. Participant must enter two regular classes to be eligible. Must have two entries to run the class. Points will only be used as a tie breaker for championships. ***Gymkhana Classes #30, #32, #34, and #38 will be divided between Open and Youth if there are at least three participants in each. A series end award will also be offered for both Open and Youth if the division is split in at least two of the shows. Disciplined Rail—A class that judges the horse’s performance and manners while executing maneuvers not seen in a regular pleasure class. Walk/Jog-Trot MAY include turn on the haunches or forehand, sidepass, stop and stand, back on the rail. Walk/Jog-Trot/LopeCanter MAY include counter canter/lope, extension of gaits, side pass, turn on the haunches or forehand, lead changes, etc. Unlike Command classes, horses are not eliminated for failure to perform maneuvers. Fees:        

Office Fee: $5 for each Horse/Rider Combination with the exception of Leadline. Stalls: $20/stall. $10 refund if stripped. Leadline: Free Open: $8/class or $60/day Walk Jog/Trot: $5/class or $30/day Gymkhana Classes #30, #32, #34, #38: $6/class Youth: $6/class or $50/day No refunds. Make checks payable to “CCE of Genesee.” Indicate 4-H Horse Open Show on memo line. $20 service charge for returned checks.

Divisions:     

Walk/Trot: Any 4-H Rider 8-12 years of age. Walk/Trot riders cannot cross enter into Youth or Open Divisions. Youth: Any Rider 8-16 years of age Open: Any Rider 8 years and older as of January 1, 2017. Gymkhana: 4-H Rider 8-18 years of age or Non—4-H Rider age 18 and over. Youth riders may cross enter into the open division. All ages are determined as of January 1, 2017.

NYS 4-H Horse Show Rules—Applicable to all entrants regardless of age—No Exceptions Complete Show Rules can be found at: http://www.ansci.cornell.edu/4H/horses/rulebook/index.html *Gymkhana: Youth (8-18) must be currently registered 4-H members and show proof of rider evaluation from their respective county. If county does not provide rider evaluation, participant must bring a letter from their Cornell Cooperative Extension office indicating they are currently enrolled in the 4-H horse program.  All participants must sign the Acknowledgement of Risk Form (parents to sign for youth).  All participants, regardless of age, must wear an approved helmet (ASTM1163 /SEI or ASTM-F-1163-04A/SEI certified) and proper equestrian footwear with a distinguished heel whenever mounted. Helmets must be presented at registration for examination.  Proper attire for riding discipline is required, including long sleeve western shirts with a collar for Gymkhana.  Proper tack for riding discipline is required.  A current negative Coggins (2016-2017) and current (1 year from show date) rabies certificate for each horse must be presented at registration.  Horses outside the show ring shall be ridden at a walk.  The judge’s decision is final, disputes and questions are to be brought to the show committee for resolution.  The show committee reserves the right to cancel or combine classes.  Proceeds to benefit Genesee County 4-H Horse program.  4-H rules apply to all participants.  Youth may cross enter into Open classes. Walk Trot riders may not cross enter.
