Georgetown Exempted Village Schools iPad Protection Plan Information
Engaging students in blended learning and new personalized learning technologies through the use of iPads in the classroom.
Protection Plan Overview Georgetown Exempted Village Schools will offer a take home iPad Protection Plan that will serve as a premium for the device. The iPad Protection Plan is designed to allow students to offset the cost of repair for accidental damage, loss or theft if needed. Any student that pays a non-refundable $30 premium will be covered under the plan. The policy and premium only cover the school issued device and does not cover personal software installed by the user. In addition to the iPad Protection Plan premium of $30, all students must pay a $30 Lease Agreement to cover the expense of eBooks, content-specific Apps and other relevant electronic materials.
Exclusions include: • Consumables: including but not limited to the case, charger, and software. • Cosmetic damage that does not affect the functionality of the device. This includes but is not limited to scratches, dents, and broken plastic ports or port covers. • “Jailbreaking” or otherwise voiding the manufacturer’s warranty by altering the software. • Dishonest, Fraudulent, Intentional, Negligent, or Criminal Acts: Will not pay if damage or loss occurs in conjunction with a dishonest, fraudulent, intentional negligent or criminal act. The student/parent will be responsible for the full amount of the repair/replacement.
The following costs will be assessed for lost or damaged iPads. The $30 premium will be deducted from the price of any damage ONLY for the first incident per year. Students that do not purchase the Protection Plan will be responsible for the full price of repair/replacement.
