Get Involved. Get Engaged. Get Empowered. April 2018 Dear PGMS Parents: Can you spare one hour to do something powerful? If your answer is yes, then come out to elect the 2018/2019 Parent Association board members on Thursday, May 17th at 6:30pm. Nominees are being accepted for all positions: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Descriptions of these positions can be found on the Parent Association page of the school website. http://www.pgms566.org/join_the_parent_asssociation All parents are eligible to hold a position on the PA executive board, unless they are employees of the school. A parent is defined by DOE as a birth or adoptive parent, step-parent, legally appointed guardian, foster parent, and person in parental relations to a child attending the school. You can nominate yourself or someone else. If you nominate someone else, they must verbally accept the nomination during the meeting in order to be considered as a candidate. This is why any person who wants to run MUST attend the May 17th meeting and be prepared to address the membership. We will also be electing 3 parents to sit on the School Leadership Team. To run for any of these positions, please submit your name, position of interest, and brief letter of intent by (1) emailing PA President Ms. Stewart at [email protected], or (2) emailing Parent Coordinator Mr. Leader, or (3) completing the sign-up form found on the Parent Association webpage.
