GETTYSBURG LITTLE LEAGUE - JUNIOR UMPIRE PROGRAM www.gettysburglittleleague.com

WHO: ⚾ ⚾ ⚾ ⚾

Teens between the ages of 14 - 18. who likes baseball and is knowledgeable & enthusiastic about the game. who can remain calm and rational at all times. who is looking to earn some cash by umpiring spring and/or fall home games at the Gettysburg Rec. Park for younger kids on weeknights and/or weekends. ⚾ No previous umpire experience required.

REQUIREMENTS: ⚾ attend all District 14 Umpire training courses through to their completion. ⌂ FREE TO PARTICIPANTS, PAID FOR BY GLL. ⌂ Usually totaling 4, once-per-week sessions at 3 hours each; typically starting in late Feb. ⌂ Gettysburg, Newville and Spring Grove locations available for each session. ⌂ GLL requires these courses once every other year, but they are offered annually. ⌂ Training schedule will be posted to our GLL website, under UMPIRES page when received. ⌂ *Once all training is completed, you will be a certified Little League Umpire! ⚾ provide us with a signed note by a parent/guardian permitting participation. ⚾ purchase your own Umpire shirt, pants and hat that you must wear at every game you officiate. ⚾ protective gear and supplies will be provided, if you do not have your own.

⚾ A minimum of 5 games as a Base Umpire must be completed before being given the opportunity to be a Plate Umpire. ⚾ Junior umpires will always be paired with an adult umpire. ⚾ You can progress at your own comfort level and start off slow, if you prefer. Please keep in regular contact with the GLL Umpire In Chief on your development.
