Thank you for purchasing the INTELLINET NETWORK SOLUTIONS™ Gigabit SATA NAS, Model 503662. This Quick Install Guide presents the rudimentary steps required to set up and operate this device. For specifications and more detailed instructions, refer to the user manual 1) on the CD enclosed with this product; 2) on the Web site listed below; or 3) in some cases, printed and enclosed with this product. Safety Information

For the safety of users and their equipment, follow these safety guidelines: • This device is for indoor use only; DO NOT use it outdoors. • DO NOT place this device in or near excessive heat or humidity. • DO NOT yank any connected cables; disconnect them gently. • If placing this dev ice at heights or on a wall, make sure it’s firmly secured to prevent damage possible injury. • Parts, such as cables, the housing or the power supply, are dangerous should children put the small parts in their nose or mouth. KEEP THIS DEVICE OUT THE REACH OF CHILDREN! • The NAS will become hot when used a long time. This is normal and is not a malfunction. Keep the device away from paper, cloth and other flammable materials. • There’s no user-serviceable part inside the router. If you find that the router is not working properly, contact your dealer (place of purchase) and ask for help. DO NOT disassemble the router. Doing so will void the warranty. • If the NAS device falls into water while turned on, DO NOT touch it! Turn off its power source before you do anything, or contact an experienced technician for help. • If you smell something strange or see smoke coming out of the router or power supply, remove the power supply or turn the power off immediately, then call the dealer for help. 3

Before you start to install and operate this NAS device, make sure the following items are enclosed; otherwise, contact your dealer for assistance. • Gigabit SATA NAS • A/C power adapter • Quick installation guide & user manual CDROM

Installation

1. HDD installation a) Shut down the server, unplug the power cord and open the housing by pressing on the side panels of the top cover (left and right side).

e) Once removed, you can find a bag holding screws and rubber feet. You can use them after the installation to secure the housing. This is optional. f) Slide in the HDD into the HDD cover and place the HDD cover in the drive bay of the SATA NAS

g) Connect the power and data cable to the SATA HDD

h) Fasten the HDD cover using the four screws of step b i) Put the top cover back in place (see step a) j) Connect the cables as shown in step 2

2. Cable connection a) Connect the included Ethernet cable to the back of the Gigabit SATA NAS. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to a LAN switch or Router on your network. Ideally, a DHCP server is installed installed on your network which provides an IP Address to the Gigabit SATA NAS.

b) Connect the power adapter to the power outlet or a power strip. Connect the other end to the DC input connector on the backside of the SATA NAS. e) Power on the Gigabit SATA NAS by pressing the blue power button. 3. Configuration The Gigabit SATA NAS device is a network device designed to obtain IP information from a DHCP server in your network. In most cases this would be your Router. The NAS supports UPnP and will announce its presence to UPnP enabled devices; e.g., your Windows computer. Double-click the ‘UPnP NAS Device’ icon to open up the configuration page.

Alternatively, you can use the NAS Finder application from the included Software CD. NAS Finder is designed to detect all NAS devices on your network. Your NAS unit should be listed with the unit’s IP address.

Double-click the device name or highlight the device name and click on the ‘Configure’ button to bring up the configuration page. The default user name is blank (don’t fill it out). The default password is ‘admin’.
