GLOBAL MISSIONS Zoe helps children in Liberia never need charity again!

First UMC in Bryan sponsors a work-group of up to 100 Zoe children in Liberia who are orphans or vulnerable. We are called a Hope Sponsor because we are committed to a three year level of support. When the children ‘graduate’ from Zoe in three years, they are prepared to care for themselves and their younger siblings. They have secure, dependable sources of food and income. They become contributing members of their community. First UMC supports these children through prayer and giving. Funds are raised outside the budget of the church through fund-raisers and individual gifts. Contact David Porterfield to learn how to get involved. Our annual commitment is $7,500.

LOCAL SEVICE / GLOBAL MISSIONS

Record Production in 2016! The local P.E.T. Shop in Bryan has built and packed 105 P.E.T.s in just the first 10 weeks of 2016. At this rate we could build 525 P.E.T.s this year. Our only stumbling block is funding. 525 P.E.T.s packed and shipped have a value of $157,500. You have helped us build over 2,000 P.E.T.s in just 6 years and have changed the lives of 2,000 people by providing them a means of mobility. Please help us keep up our production rate and to continue to help the mobility impaired. Construction of Personal Energy Transport vehicles is underway! Volunteers are needed for the building, painting, assembling, packing, and shipping of the Personal Energy Transporters. Donations can be made to P.E.T. Project TX, Inc. Each P.E.T. costs approximately $300 to complete. These vehicles are sent all over the world to people who are impaired by disease, accidents, or landmines. For more information, please email [email protected] or call 979-821-2222.
