Goddard USD No. 265 Board of Education Organizational Meeting Administration Center Santa Fe Room 201 S. Main Street Goddard, Kansas 67052 Wednesday, July 8, 2015 8:00 a.m. Meeting Minutes The Board of Education of Unified School District No. 265, Sedgwick County, Goddard, Kansas, met at 8:00 a.m., on Tuesday, July 8, 2015, for a special meeting in Board of Education Room of the USD 265 Administration Center. BOE members present in the Santa Fe Room: Vice-President Ruth Wood, Ms. Sara McDonald, Ms. Nicole Hawkins; BOE members who called into the meeting were President Kevin McWhorter. BOE members Mr. Bob Merritt, Mr. Jamey Blubaugh, and Mr. Mark Richards were absent. Also present in the Santa Fe Room: Mr. Jeff Hersh, assistant superintendent; Mr. Ronny Liurence, chief of police; and Mr. Dane Baxa, clerk of the board. Also calling into the meeting was Dr. Justin Henry, superintendent. 1. Call to Order BOE President Kevin McWhorter called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. 2. Waiver of Written Notice A motion was made by Ms. Nicole Hawkins, second by Ms. Sara McDonald to waive the written notice required under the provisions of K.S.A. 72-8205 as to the time, place and purpose of a special meeting as presented. The motion carries 4-0. 3. Director of Transportation A motion was made by Ms. Ruth Wood, second by Ms. Nicole Hawkins to approve the hiring of Mr. Sam Houston as director of transportation with a starting salary of $75,000. The motion carried 4-0. The meeting was adjourned at 8:02 a.m. Respectfully submitted by
