In Arc Map I created a map with the Nuisance Photo layer using my registered database connection
Saved my map. Then went to File – Share As – Service
Entered my connection & Service Name
Chose the older I wanted to use
In the Service Editor dialog box I set the Capabilities and Item Description
Check Feature Access if you are going add features in the field to this layer Always Check Mobile Data Access if you are going to view this layer on a mobile device
Clicked on Analyze to identify an errors
With no major errors I Clicked on Publish
I received the Publish Results that my service published successfully
Using this same process I published the other layers I wanted to use in my web application
Now moving to my ArcGIS Online Account I navigate to my “Map” section to create my Nuisance Map Click on New Map
Type in Statesville, North Carolina Then Zoom
I go to Add – Search for Layers I change the dropdown “In” box to A GIS Server I go in and put the path to my GIS Server I then have a list of my published services
I added all my layers… Configured my Pop-ups
Saved My Map And Shared My Map
Now anyone with a City mobile device can view the Nuisance Map I created.
Mobile Demonstration of taking Nuisance Photos in the field.
Once the field tech comes back into the office they can create their nuisance letters. I created them a Nuisance Map on their desktops to assist them in this step. They are now able to see the photos that they just took in the field.
Here in their map you can see the photo they just took in the field.
Now they click to select the parcel and paste it on the layer they need – This is a weeded lot
Now they fill out the various fields they need to inform the citizen
Now they just have to go to View – Reports – Run Report I have created all the letter templates they use – this one is a weeded lot letter
Everything is populated in the letter and they just hit print If the Planner had 15 Weeded Lot letters to send he could first enter all his data – then select all 15 parcels and run the 15 letters at one time. It has been a great time saver for them.
