For too many of the 90 kids at the Breakfast with Santa hosted by the Appleton-Fox Cities (Wisconsin) Kiwanis Club, this would be the only time they would get a gift during the holiday season. Their immediate futures are in flux. The kids, who range in age from infants to teenagers, are homeless—living in shelters because of various family circumstances. Some of their parents are fleeing domestic abuse situations. Others have fallen on hard times.

Left, Dave Finlay. The club held its holiday party at the Egg & I Restaurant at the Basemar Shopping Center, on December 13, 2016. Many club members and guests dressed in beautiful Holiday attire.

Right MaryAnn. The club held a “white elephant” gift exchange. Items exchanged included a hand-held crank powered radio, Christmas mug, CD’s, cassette tapes, books, a scarf, a soap dispenser and a flower pot. Left Charles Hadley. Charles presented Dave with a crisp $100.00 bill as a token of appreciation for all the work which Dave does for the club. Charles, Arlene Devore, Helen Hall and Jess Kadel among others are bell-ringing for the Salvation Army’s Bell-Ringing campaign.
