Gracemere Sale Report - Friday 24th January 2014 On a reduced yarding of 1340 head today’s Gracemere Cattle sale saw prices rise considerably for most descriptions. 730 Steers, 495 Heifers, 103 Cows, 4 Cows & Calves and 8 Bulls were drawn from Collinsville in the North, to Theodore in the South. Feeder Steers topped the sale reaching 201.2¢ with younger and lighter steers realizing 171.2¢. Heavy cows topped at 130.2¢ while store cows reached 106.2¢. Feeder Heifers topped at 150.2¢ with lighter & weaner heifers making from 127.2¢ to 150.2¢. Cedarvale Pastoral Co, Ubobo sold 72 No 2 Charbray Cross Steers to top at 201.2¢/kg weighing 345kg to return $694/hd. RA & JM Van Lathum, 6 Mile, Alpha sold a pen of Charbray Steers to 155¢ to average 402kg realizing $622/hd. From the same brand Droughtmaster Steers averaged 400kg to 155¢ to return $620/hd K & L Garland, Brooklands, Gogango sold 30 Droughtmaster No 2 & 3 EU Heifers to average 150¢/kg weighing 312kg to return $469/hd.
