Grandma’s Secret Spaghetti Sauce Recipe Revealed ;-) 2 -24 ounce Cans of Chopped Italian Plum tomatoes 1 -12 or 24 ounce can of Hunts tomato sauce ¼ cup of extra virgin olive oil ½ of medium sized onion minced 4 to 5 garlic cloves peeled and minced 6 fresh basil leaves Fresh Parsley the size of a golf ball Salt and pepper to taste Teaspoon of sugar 3 tablespoons of Romano cheese 1. In a non-stick saucepan, pour olive oil in; medium to medium low heat. Mix in garlic and onions. Let simmer. You want them to get soft and translucent and possibly very light brown, but not dark. Don’t let burn. 2. When close to done, put in parsley and basil and let simmer for just a minute or so. Then dump in all tomatoes. 3. Add sugar, salt, pepper and Romano cheese. Raise heat and bring to boil. But watch that it is does not burn and stick to bottom. Stir to make sure. After boil, reduce heat to low and let simmer for 30 minutes.
