Utilizing state-of-the-art professional tools and computer systems, students learn automotive repair and maintenance skills. The program is Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certified from the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF). This means the program meets or exceeds industry-recognized, uniform standards of excellence. Profile of a successful student: • The match between a student’s sincere and genuine interest and the CTE program is the strongest indicator of a successful student. • Student is on track for graduating with their cohort. • Student is at or above grade level for math and reading. • Student attendance is in good standing as per district policy. • Parents support their child’s choice of CTE program.

■ Average ■ Automotive Technologies I & II This graph represents nine data points that are considered important when assessing CTE program effectiveness at Questar III. A lower (or higher) rating than the average may only tell part of “the story” for why that rating is lower or higher. It is important not to simply assume that a lower rating in an area is an indicator of lower quality, or a less valuable rating. Instead, when looking at all nine ratings, it is important to discuss why a CTE program received that rating.
Technical endorsement: NATEF End of Program Exam/NATEF Task Sheets To earn a CTE technical endorsement on their diploma, students must meet ALL of the following requirements: • Earn the minimum 22 credits for HS graduation in NYS • Pass the minimum 5 required regents exams (ELA, 1 Math, 1 Science, US History and Global History) • Pass ALL 3 parts of the technical assessment: written, performance and portfolio.
