Your support helps MFGA work with Manitoba producers, partners and researchers on behalf of Manitoba’s forages and grasslands, including these major projects: •• MFGA AQUANTY PROJECT: A HydroGeoSphere high-resolution model of the Assiniboine River Basin to look at the role of forages and grasslands in times of future flood and drought. The MFGA Aquanty Project will be completed Spring 2018. MFGA is the project proponent and holder of the licence to access the model. •• MANITOBA BEEF & FORAGE INITIATIVE: Located on 3 research sites near Brandon, MBFI is a unique partnership between MFGA, Manitoba Beef Producers, Ducks Unlimited Canada and Manitoba Agriculture to advance the Manitoba beef and forage industries by conducting farm-scale research and act as a hub for extension, tech and knowledge transfer. •• GREEN GOLD PROGRAM: Originally designed and delivered 22 years ago by forage experts from Manitoba’s Agriculture Department to help producers get the highest feed value from their first cut of alfalfa, Green Gold has been delivered by MFGA in recent years and has found a definite foothold with Manitoba producers who maximize their hay quality by harvesting their alfalfa stand at the optimum time.
