Green Class 2 Literacy - The Tunnel by Anthony Browne Green 2 have been reading ’The Tunnel’, story by Anthony Browne, so far this term. Pupils have participated in a sensory story where they have used slime, leaves, water spray, twigs, keywords, sound boards and crawled through a real tunnel like the characters in the book. Green 2 have also been working hard on their reading and writing this term, visiting the library and practicing letter formation at least once a week.

Science—Materials Green 2’s topic this term has been ‘Materials’. Therefore, we have looked at different materials in Food Technology, Art and Science. Pupils exploring materials that exist both as solids and liquids, such as chocolate and ice pops, and what happens to them when they are heated and cooled. Pupils have also lookied at reversible and irreversible changes in food, such as pancakes and ice cream. As part of Science, pupils have explored different materials within the class and around school,

History - The Passage of Time Green 2 have been looking at famous local people, specifically Catherine Cookson and George Stephenson. They have looked at the life and achievements of these famous people from the past and how life would have been back then. As part of this unit, Green 2 visited the Catherine Cookson Musuem in South Shields. They looked at a replica of Catherine Cookson house and street and how she lived in the early 1900’s.
