Our green roof kits are aimed at garden designers, landscapers and DIY gardeners who are planning to install a living sedum roof on to a small simple structure of 50 m2 or less. Please be aware that large buildings such as entire dwellings or commercial premises are not suitable for DIY green roofing. Enviromat green roof kits: Enviromat green roof kit s are offered in 4 sizes, with two choices of build-up in each size. The pitched roof kit is suitable for living green roofs with a slope between 3 and 20 degrees and the flat green roof kit is for buildings where the roof deck has a slope of between 1 and 2.9 degrees. If your roof has a steep pitch, please telephone us for advice. Standard sized Enviromat green roof kits are 4m2, 6m2, 8m2 or 10m2. Pease contact us if you need a kit of a different size. Our green roof kits are for use on a fully waterproofed roof that is nice and strong, has a smooth surface and is in a sunny spot. The Enviromat green roof kit contains: Polyethene root barrier to protect your waterproofing against damage from roots and boots. Drainage matting (flat green roof kits only): sedum plants prefer well drained growing medium. Drainage mat ensures that excess rainwater is directed away from the plant’s roots. Water retention matting. A fleecy blanket, specially engineered to hold 9 litres of water per square metre. Water retention fleece is essential to support the plants through periods of drought and is far less weighty than the alternative of using a deep layer of growing medium. Enviromat sedum matting in 1m x 2m rolls. These can be heavy so make sure there are two of you to lift it. Enviromat is a blanket of low growing sedum plants with at least 95% plant coverage. Seven species of sedum plants are seeded in a random fashion into the mats and then grown on for at least 12 months to create a wonderful mix ever changing textures, colours and floral displays. Enviromat contains all the growing medium needed to sustain sedum plants held securely in place by a strong, non-degradable mesh that is unique to our brand.
