Green Staff Groundsman Summary of the position Performs a wide variety of semi-skilled activities involved in golf course maintenance and construction, operates motorized and manual equipment, such as mowing, edging, caring for bunkers, seeding, debris and garbage removal, and any other duties that arise to support the operation of the Course. Salary Range $7.25 to $10.50 per hour, with no benefits Approximately 25 hours per week, may require working overtime and holidays Essential duties and responsibilities
Operates motorized equipment in mowing golf course putting greens, collars, tees, fairways, bunkers and lake banks, rough and native areas. Operates equipment associated with topdressing, aerification and dragging operations. Grades and prepares soil plant beds. Cuts sod, plants vegetative materials and seeds putting greens, tees, fairways and rough. Repairs divots on tees and fairways. May trim or prune trees and shrubs. Changes tee markers and cuts cups. Rakes, edges and maintains bunkers. Maintains edges along sidewalk and any other concrete. Weedwhips around trees, sign posts, drinking fountains, hydrants, irrigation controllers, along fences, foundations and gardens. May occasionally assist in irrigation repair and spot watering greens, tees, fairways and rough. Takes part in the construction and installation of new planting areas, tees, bunkers, drainage lines and irrigation lines.
Special Considerations
Must be at least 16 years of age with a valid driver’s license. Must have knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in golf course construction and maintenance. Aptitude to safely operate various types of motorized golf course maintenance equipment. Ability to work early mornings. Good physical condition, able to regularly lift 50 pounds.
