CRAZY 8’S ADULT LEAGUE SOCCER www.greenfieldsoccer.org 2015 Summer COED RECREATION DIVISION GUIDELINES AND RULES Number of Players: Maximum number of players is eight (8) per side (8 v 8). Goal keeper + 7 field players. 9v9 is acceptable upon acceptance of both captains. In case of minimum number of players, teams must play even-up soccer. Minimum one (1) female per team must be on playing field at all times. If a team cannot provide one female, that team must play one player short. Registration: All players must have properly completed registration forms. Equipment: Shinguards are mandatory. Size 5 ball. League shirt should be worn on outside of undergarments. Proper soccer (no toe cleat) shoes are highly recommended. No jewelry of any type. Soft (non-metallic) sweatbands, rubber bands, scrunchies are allowed. No metal hair clips. Field dimensions: 70-80 yds. X 55-60 yds. Goal Dimensions: 6 ft. X 18 ft. Penalty Area: 14 yds. X 34 yds. Game Duration: Two (2) 30 minutes quarters. Five (5) minute halftime. Games can end in draw. *FIFA Rules apply to play and conduct issues at the referee’s discretion *Referees decisions are final. Honor the Game…Honor the Referee. *Only team captains should consult with the referee. EXCEPTIONS TO FIFA LAWS OF THE GAME: *No offside. *All kicks are indirect. NO SLIDE TACKLES. A player may slide on ground to contact the ball if no players are nearby. Goal kicks: Ball may start from any position within the goal area. The kick is NOT ALLOWED to cross the halfway line on the fly (in the air). Any infraction results in a turn over at the point where the ball passed over the halfway line. Goal Keeper: May throw or roll ball to any position on the playing field. Punts are NOT ALLOWED to cross the halfway line on the fly (in the air). Any infraction results in a turn over at the point where the ball passed over the halfway line. Penalty area infractions: Ball is placed at the nearest point on the penalty area line from where the infraction occurred. Eight Yard Rule: (Size of the center circle.) In all dead ball situations, defending players must stand eight yards away from ball before restart. Substitutions: Can occur for either team at any dead ball situation as recognized by the referee. . All substitutes must be at midfield inside the permanent goal to be recognized by the referee. Goal scoring: Can only occur from a team’s offensive half of the field.
