6th March 2017 Dear Parent / Guardian, You will be aware, that throughout the academic year, we plan various workshops for our Sixth Form students to prepare them for their future pathways. On Wednesday 26th April we have planned a trip to visit Cardiff University for their Open Day. Although the day is planned by Cardiff University (details of which can be found on their website) we also have the opportunity of a personalised tour from a past student, Abigail Cooke, who is currently studying medicine at Cardiff University. This is a fantastic opportunity for all Year 12 students to explore the university campus and facilities, meet students and staff and ask questions. Students will leave school at 7.00am to arrive at the University for 10.00am. We shall leave Cardiff at 3.00pm, arriving back at school for approximately 6.00pm. There is a cost of £20 to cover transport which I am sure you agree is amazing value. Students will be able to purchase food on campus or they can bring a packed lunch. School uniform will not be required. Although every care is taken to ensure the safety of students during school visits there is always an element of risk and for this reason the party will be insured. However, you may wish to take out additional cover for accident or loss of/ damage to property as an additional safeguard. If you would like you son/daughter to take part, please can you complete the consent form, return it in an envelope, along with payment marked ‘Visit to Cardiff University’ to the Finance Office by Friday 24th March 2017. You also have the option to pay for the trip using our online system. However, we do still require the reply slip to be returned. Yours sincerely
