Thank you for purchasing the Tipton™ Gun Vise. The Gun Vise was designed to hold your firearms securely during cleaning, routine maintenance and minor gunsmithing tasks. Please take the time to read and understand the assembly instructions before assembling your Gun Vise.
Warning: The Tipton™ Gun Vise was designed for gun cleaning, repair, and maintenance and SHOULD NEVER BE USED TO HOLD A GUN WHILE TEST FIRING OR SIGHTING IN. Always wear safety glasses around firearms and cleaning solvents.
Installing the Rubber Feet 1. Locate the four rubber feet and the 4 attachment screws. With a small Phillips Head screwdriver, install the rubber feet onto the bottom of the Gun Vise Base using the holes located near each corner. Each rubber foot is tapered. The small end should contact the bench top when installed. Do not over-tighten.
Installing the Sanoprene Rubber Pads 2. Locate the Sanoprene Rubber Pads for the Forend, the Grip Cap and the Buttstock. All of the pads have small “fingers” molded underneath. Press these fingers into the holes of the Gun Vise base. Each Sanoprene pad fits the contour of the Gun Vise Base firmly.
Always make sure that your gun is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction. Never stand in front of the muzzle, even if you know the gun is unloaded.

Cam Lever Assembly and Installation 3. Locate the Cam Lever Assembly and the Cam. Notice in Figure 2 that the cam lever handle and knob should lay directly on top of the cam assembly. Turn it to this position. Assembling the Gun Vise Your Gun Vise comes unassembled. Please make sure your Gun Vise includes all of the following components: See Figure 1 Gun Vise Base (1) Sanoprene Rubber Forend Pad (1) Sanoprene Rubber Grip Cap Pad (1) Sanoprene Rubber Buttstock Pad (1) Sanoprene Rubber Pivot Arm Pad (1) Pivot Arm Cover (1) Pivot Arm Assembly (1) Pivot Arm Adjuster Knob (1) Cam Lever Assembly (1) Cam (1) Rubber Foot (4) Rubber Foot Attachment Screws (4) Pivot Arm Pin (1) Pivot Arm Return Spring (1) Phillips Head Assembly Screws-1/4-20 x 1-1/4” (3)
4. Hold the Cam in your left hand with the “hollow” side up and the odd shaped end on top as in Figure 3A. With your right hand, place the Cam Lever Shaft through the center hole of the cam. The roll pin that goes through the Cam Lever Shaft should sit in the slot that crosses the center hole of the cam. 5. There are two “steps” on the right-hand side of the Gun Vise Base. The smaller “step” accepts the Cam Lever Assembly. Insert the Cam Lever Shaft into the hole on this “step”. Notice the slot above the step. This slot accepts a small rib on the underneath side of the Cam Lever Cover. Figure 3B 6. Secure the Cam Lever Assembly to the Gun Vise using a Phillips Head Assembly Screw. Figure 3C
