i Vern was getting bored with her long locks that can sometimes look a bit “flat”. “I have a substantial amount of hair, which tends to pull my facial features down a little,” she laments. “I would like to add some fun yet office-appropriate hues to rejuvenate my hair!” To achieve this, Han, senior stylist at Centro W Salon, chose a light brown hue with blush and blonde highlights for Li Vern. “The light brown hue livens her complexion and makes her look younger,” says Han. “I drew inspiration from Rose Quartz, Pantone’s Colour of the Year and added some blush and blonde highlights mid-length onwards.” Li Vern’s verdict? “This colour combo is a winner. I feel much fresher with this new look!”

after After a quick hair analysis, Carol found that Kalaichelvi’s fine hair was severely damaged. Thus, the Steampod machine had to be set at 170°C to suit her hair condition.

lthough Kalaichelvi has Gisele-like waves that most straight-haired ladies dream of, she was aching for a change. “It can get quite unmanageable and it is a hassle to style it every morning,” she bemoans. “Even though her hair is at a good length, the previous style Kalaichelvi sported was too thinned out, resulting in severe and uneven layers,” says Carol Lai, Educator at Miko Hair Studio & Academy. “I chopped off those layers and used L’Oréal Professionnel’s Steampod 2.0 for a semi-permanent straightening that still looks natural and gives body to her hair.” “I love everything about my new hairdo – from the length to the volume,” says Kalaichelvi. “Initially I was skeptical about the rebonding process because I was afraid it would look like I had hair just glued to my scalp in a flat and unnatural way. I am delighted I was proven wrong with this experience!”

s a busy working mum running her own organic beauty care business, Louise wanted a hairstyle that was chic yet fuss-free. “I have been sporting the same hairstyle and length for quite some time now. I am a fan of ‘lobs’ (long bobs), and I do not mind trying out a new cut,” she says. Edman Loh, the senior director at Label S Signature, Oasis Damansara, was quick to snip off Louise’s frizzy ends before working his magic. “Her long permed mane was one length, so it looked very heavy. I gave her locks a mix of brown and rose gold colour with the Shiseido Professional Primience Hair Coloring Service, as I felt it would brighten up her complexion.” “I have wanted to reduce the extra hair length for a while now, but with my hectic schedule juggling responsibilities between family and career, I had to put my vanity in the backseat,” says Louise. “This is a refreshing change and it updates my overall appearance. The shorter length also means I do not need to spend as much time on my tresses as before.” W

Colouring and chemical services such as perming or straightening are great options for a complete transformation, but you can go for a quick snip like Louise’s to update your look.
