What is Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)? • AKA Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) • Uses manual manipulative techniques to diagnose, treat, and prevent illness or injury • involve moving/repositioning fascia, muscles, ligaments, and joints through stretching, gentle pressure and resistance to name a few. • some techniques are similar to other manual therapy such as Chiropractic Therapy, Physical Therapy, Massage Therapy • MOST techniques are unique to the field of osteopathy • Hands-on care!
