Queens Museum NYC Pavilion Playground for All Children
Observation deck for constellation
3 Trampolines for kids
Two programs are suggested in the Pavilion, one of which is trampoline nets, the other is a new observation deck on the top of the Tent of Tomorrow. Due to the location of the Pavilion, the characteristic of the programs should be associated with adjacent conditions. There are several public buildings around NYS Pavilion such as Queens Museum, New York Hall of Science and Queens Zoo which are all interact with children. Accordingly, family oriented activities are found along the big circular slopes supported by existing columns from the ground to the top. Three different sizes of trampoline for kids are made of elastic nets hanging from existing roof structure. Vertically arranged each trampoline is used based on ages, so that the trampoline at the lowest would be applied for young children. The observation platforms on the top of the Pavilion connected with existing three towers which allow visitors not only to provide better views to the city in the day, but also to observe the night sky.
