Adult Sunday School Helping Without Hurting …... The Bible says much about poverty and the responsibility followers of Jesus Christ have in caring for the poor. However, in our effort to help, we may be doing more harm than good. We will be thinking through and discussing not only what the Bible has to say about poverty but also learning how we as a church are seeking to more effectively minister to the needy in our community. We will be using the excellent books When Helping Hurts and the follow up, Helping Without Hurting in Church Benevolence as our main resources. We hope you will join us as we discuss this important topic.
New Young Adults Sunday School Frank and Joan Heinsohn will be hosting a new young adults group tackling topics that they might face in their workplace or school that can challenge their faith. The study book is: “Jesus Among Secular Gods” by Ravi Zacharias. The class will include some light brunch food and coffee. This informal setting should lead to good and open discussions where folks are able to share challenges they face from others to their Christian faith. The theme verse for the class is 1 Peter 3:15. “but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect….”

Kids’ Night In/Parents’ Night Out Early Valentine’s
Day

Friday, February 9th You can drop off your kids at the duplex after 6 p.m. and pick them up by 9 p.m. We will prepare a hot dog meal with drinks for them. Since we have lamp posts over the playground area now, there will be an opportunity for them to play outside if weather permits. We will require them to be dressed appropriately. There are also board games and movies. Deadline to sign-up is Wednesday, February 7th. To help cover for the food and drinks, we ask that parents bring $5 per child or $10 max for families. Any teenagers or singles who would like to help and/or any questions can be directed to Corrie Howe at [email protected] or 410-394-0951.
