Have a wonderful Spring Break! Congratulations, Sound Waves Choir!! The choir received a State I rating at contest yesterday. Students: As the weather gets warmer, please keep the school dress code in mind. All shorts, dresses, etc. must be at least mid-thigh in length. See a complete description of the school dress code on page 21 of your student handbook. CosmopAlton Staff has created Senior Memory books. Seniors please pick yours up during lunch TODAY in Mrs. Smith’s room. Choir contest TODAY. Poultry and Nursery Landscape practice TODAY during 8th hour in Mrs. Grothe's room. TODAY is the last day to buy Prom tickets. Saturday school, TOMORROW, will be in Mr. Walker’s room from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. Please bring something to read or work on. Lifetouch will be here to take the following team pictures on Wednesday, March 30 (this is our second day back after spring break): Jr. High - Baseball and Softball Sr. High - Spring Baseball, Spring Softball, and Track. We will also take group pictures of FCCLA, Art Club, and A+ Seniors. Athletes: If you did not get an order form, extras are available in the office. Dual Credit English and Math Placement Testing will be Tuesday, April 12 from 8:30 until 11:00 in the library. Those students interested in taking the courses will need to see Mrs. Gilliland by Friday, April 8 to sign up to test. If you are taking both courses, you will take both tests to determine eligibility for the courses. If you are taking only one or the other, you will only take the exam for that course. You CANNOT have your cell phones with you during testing. Make arrangements to leave them elsewhere during that time. Coach Marty has extra baseball hats for sale for $20. Saturday school dates have been set. Saturday schools will be on March 19, April 2, April 9, April 23 and April 30. Students that have exceeded 4 unexcused absences for the semester are encouraged to attend Saturday school in order to avoid or reduce their grade reduction. To attend Saturday school, you must sign the list in the main office. It is your responsibility to bring something to work on during Saturday school. Agronomy Team practice Tuesdays and Thursdays 8th hour. After School Study Hall for all students on Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30 until 5:00. SPORTS CORNER: TODAY: Wood Bat Tournament at Eminence. Alton vs. Lesterville at 4:00. The bus will leave at 1:00. Saturday, March 19th: Wood Bat Tournament at Eminence. Alton vs. Greenville at 11:45. The bus will leave at 9:30 am. Monday, March 21st: HS Softball vs. Mt. Grove at 3:30. HS Baseball vs. Couch at 4:30. Tuesday, March 22nd: HS Baseball at Willow Springs at 4:30. The bus will leave at 2:30.

Thursday, March 24th: HS Baseball vs. Dora at 3:00 and vs. Mammoth Spring at 7:00. HS Softball (4:30) and JH Softball (5:30) at Norwood. The bus will leave at 1:00. Saturday, March 26th: HS Baseball vs. Caruthersville at 1:00 and vs. Portageville at 3:00. The bus will leave at 9:00 am. Tuesday, March 29th: JH Baseball (3:00) & HS Baseball (4:30) vs. Kosh. SENIOR NEWS: SENIORS: Scholarships due TODAY - MSU - West Plains, Leadership, Christodoulou, Cook, Strauss, Stuck, and Tesar. Also, pay attention to the deadlines of scholarships when we return from spring break. It is your responsibility to pay attention to the deadlines since we are no longer posting them on the bulletin! Senior Trip meeting in Mrs. Vinson's room during 8th hour TODAY. Senior Wills are due Tuesday, March 29th. (The first day back after Spring Break.) SENIORS: You need to meet with Mrs. Gilliland by Friday, April 1 st to do a final review of grades, credits, and plans. Just a reminder that all bills (lunch, library, club dues, etc.) must be paid before graduation. Senior trippers who decide to withdraw from the senior trip must turn in a drop form. COUNSELOR’S CORNER:  FINANCIAL AID HELP NIGHT - ONE LEFT! March 30th from 3:30 until 7:00. This is a time for the students and parents to use the computer labs to complete the student's FAFSA. If you need additional assistance in completing the FAFSA, Mrs. Gilliland will be available to help. You will need your completed 2015 tax information for both the parent and the student. (2014 can be used, but you will need to update as soon as 2015 is completed). www.fafsa.ed.gov has more info on all of the above.  Want to be an Athletic Trainer or are you interested in Sports Medicine? MSU - Springfield will host a Bears Athletic Training Camp June 8-11 of this year. Cost is $275, but some scholarships are available. If you would like to apply go to https://commerce.cashnet.com/SMAT by May 25. The scholarship can be applied for at http://www.nhmi.net/scholarship.html by April 1.  FRESHMEN: MISSOURI CHAMBER FOUNDATION LEADERSHIP IN PRACTICE is a four day camp to help you develop critical leadership, entrepreneurship and life skills. The fee is $250, but some scholarships are available. The camp will be held Sunday, June 26 – Wednesday, June 29 on the campus of Westminster College in Fulton, MO. If interested see Mrs. G. for an application or go to www.mochamber.com/workforce/leadership-in-practice/. Deadline to apply is April 1.  HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GRADES 9-12 - MSU - WEST PLAINS ALLIED HEALTH PROGRAMS will have representatives here on Friday, April 8 from 9:00 to 11:30. They will present information on the nursing, respiratory therapy, and health information technology programs.
