“He has showed you, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Listen! The Lord is calling to the city.” Micah 6:8-9 IMPORTANT INFO The “BIG 5” We have five “group proverbs” that we live by so that we can all get along for the week. If everyone abides by these, we’ll have a great time together… 1. Show respect! 2. Listen. 3. Be Flexible. 4. Have a Great Attitude. 5. Be where you’re supposed to be, when you’re supposed to be there, doing what you’re supposed to be doing! DRESS CODE ***Please read very carefully!! As we are in Chicago on a MISSION TRIP we have set up simple dress guidelines to follow. Failing to do this could cause distractions and distrust from the ministry sites that we are working with: clean, neat, and modest. Inappropriate clothing is an unnecessary distraction and will be addressed by our leadership. Here are a few other guidelines: • Modest shorts and shirts--- (Ladies we do not want to call attention to ourselves in the park.) • For safety reasons closed-toe shoes and cap sleeved t-shirts are required on all ministry sites! If you have questions, don’t hesitate to ask. But a good general rule is, that if you doubt whether something is appropriate, it probably isn’t, so just leave it at home. CLUSTER GROUPS We will continue the tradition of cluster groups, which are packs of assigned students with an adult that are to remain together anytime they are outside the hostel or traveling on the train. This will help us know at all times that each student is with someone and accounted for in a very safe method. TWITTER, INSTAGRAM, & FACEBOOK UPDATES If the technology will cooperate, you can keep up with what is going on in Chicago by visiting @bbcstudentstuff on Twitter and/or Instagram and LIKE us on Facebook “Brentwood Baptist Student Ministry” to check out the pictures, which we hope to update daily! MONEY Your student will need to pay for their traveling meals and any extra spending. (Lunch and dinner on Saturday and lunch and a snack on Friday). $45-50 will cover their meals. MOBILE PHONE POLICY Mobile phones are becoming an increasing distraction for our students as they call and text people other than their parents creating distractions and taking them away mentally from what they are supposed to be doing and preparing for. As a result, we will be taking up cell phones upon arrival in Chicago and scheduling calls home during free time only. Students do not need to take their cell phones to the sites each day. If a student needs to get in touch with their parents we will of course make exceptions, but this should help your student be fully present during this mission experience. If you need to get in touch with your student please use Amy-Jo or Garrett’s information to contact us. MEDICATION • Following our policy for prescription medication, you will need to do the following: • Fill out the attached Medication Form. • Put all your medications in a bag clearly labeled with your name that includes your Doctors instructions.

• • •

At check-in, you will turn in ALL medications to a leader. Your leader will supervise and distribute your medicine as instructed. Anyone NOT turning in medication will be subject to removal from the week, as we cannot take risks in this area!
