IMPORTANT NOTICE Welcome back to the new school year in Blythefield. The pupils look fantastic in their new uniforms. We have really enjoyed catching up with your children again after the summer break. Whilst the Friday Bulletin will continue to give you the most up to date information about what is happening in school, we will also be sharing information regularly on out school facebook page and on the Website.

Collecting Pupils in P1, P2 and P3 at 2pm. From 1st September parents must come over to the main school doors where your child will be waiting with the class teacher. Children will not be allowed to walk over to the gate or the shelter on their own. An adult must come over to the front door, this is simply for safety reasons. We would also ask that parents do not drive and park inside the school gates, please park outside and walk in.

NUT FREE ZONE Blythefield Primary School is a NUT FREE ZONE. Please do not bring into school any foods containing peanuts eg peanut butter sandwiches, chocolate bars with peanuts inside them. We have several pupils with a Nut Allergy and nuts and peanuts can cause allergic reactions, which are sometimes severe. A severe reaction to nuts is called anaphylaxis and can be life-threatening. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANYTHING CONTAINING NUTS INTO SCHOOL.

School Clubs School club sign up forms will have been sent home today with every child. Clubs will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Pupils or parents may take their form and money to Louise in the front hall from Mon 5th Sept. Due to the reduced budget we have received we have had to charge for some clubs this year. This is the only way we can operate with the same level of clubs as before.

Starting time School officially starts at 8.50 and I would like all pupils in their lines at this time. Teachers will be on duty to supervise the playground from 8.40 and all pupils should aim to arrive between 8.40 and 8.50am by the back doors. If pupils are consistently late they will be missing important work on their spellings which will have a detrimental effect on all of their written work. If your child comes in late after 9.00AM they must report to Miss

Parents are not allowed to go around to the class teacher without an appointment. Quigley to get marked in.

Healthy Snack Please send a healthy mid morning snack with your child every day. NO CRISPS, CHOCOLATE, SWEETS OR FIZZY DRINKS SHOULD BE BROUGHT INTO SCHOOL. Healthy options such as a piece of fruit/ crackers/ small muffin/ bread/ pancake/ frube. We would discourage cereal bars (e.g. chocolate krispies), chocolate yogurt corners, small desserts and pepperami. They are not a healthy snack.

New contact details If you have any new contact details such a new mobile number or have moved house it is really important that you let the office know ASAP. P7 Pupil Birth Certificates The Department of Education have asked us to send copies of birth certificates for all Primary 7 pupils. This is to facilitate preparations for transfer to postprimary school. Please see Miss Quigley who will photocopy your original and return it to you while you wait. All birth certificates must be with Miss Quigley by Friday 30th September to be forwarded to the Department of Education.
