First Baptist Zachary Women’s Ministry Quarterly News—August 2017 “The Word of God is living and active. Sharper than a double-edged sword, it penetrates dividing even soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 As I shared at A Cup of Blessing, the Holy Spirit had used this verse to help me understand that my soul and my spirit were divided. In spiritual terms, she explains that the anchor symbolizes hope and stability. But in a broken world, we tend to tie our hope to false anchors, “people and things that don’t have the strength to save us.” So, what is the anchor of your soul? Do you cling to and confide in a person, a title, a dream or a goal? Dr. Charles Stanley explains, “No matter what the cause, any life separated from the only true anchor – Jesus - is in danger. The Bible teaches that Christians will not thrive if they live apart from God’s Word, His principles and an ever-deepening relationship with Him.” Our SOULS need the true Anchor! Only JESUS can save us from the storm! In His Hands,
