Hennepin Technical College Brooklyn Park Campus Student Senate Meeting MINUTES 3/22/17
Call to Order Approval of the Agenda - Passes Old Business o Elections Time for speeches Application forms must be submitted by 11:59 pm Voting will begin 3/27 – will receive an email or can go to survey monkey (website) to vote Voting closes April 14th at 11:59 pm o MSCSA Spring General Assembly – April 21-23 2017 breezy point Advisor Brenna must know who is going today if you want to go. Meet at BPC at 9am in the front area – if you are leaving a car on campus, please park in the faculty parking lot and let security know. (Hussein will be driving) New Business o 2017-2018 Budget. Budget Proposals due April 1st. Club budget request should be in by April 1st. Will be approved at the Student Life Board meetings on April 12 & 19 Budget proposed is $31,000.00 o Cell Phone charging stations? Nope. Guest Speaker o Jon Norling, Eden Prairie Student Senate President to talk about the Car Show on May 11th at the Eden Prairie Campus. Crisis Gap funding, legalize is being written, silent auction for funding of crisis funding. Club Reports o Skills USA: Spring competition next Friday, getting everyone together o Veteran services, not too many meetings, new furniture, selling snacks. DC trip Report o Met with groups, lobbyists, and legislation. Young Invincibles. Good of the Order Announcements – Reduced numbers of students. o Registration week, registration party tomorrow. o Be Healthy week is next week o Grad Fest – April 3, 11:30 – 12:30 and 4 – 5 pm in the student lounge.
