BIOGRAPHY

My purpose of Selfyt is to educate and

help people like me, to learn how to eat and to exercise and apply it as a lifestyle.

M

y name is Luis Alberto Hernandez, but my family and friends, call me “Luigi”. I am from Puebla, Mexico. Ever since I was young I have been practicing sports and exercising. I was part of my High school Volleyball team. During my last two high school years, I also joined a gym and boxing classes. A lot of exercising which also requires a lot of food. I was eating about 5 times a day and not healthy at all; I could eat five quesadillas and two sandwiches for dinner, but didn’t feel guilty because in my conscious, I was exercising and burning that fat the next day. During my college years in Business Administration, I kept exercising at a gym and some Volleyball practices, I lost some weight but my “muscles” were gone. I didn’t know how to keep them and lose weight at the same time. I moved to Houston to start my second career “Hotel and Restaurant Management”. I kept exercising at the gym lifting weight, joined MMA and still didn’t see results and the ideal “Six Pack”. I bought the insanity program. I was excited and sure it was going to finally get the fit body, but the truth is, that no matter how much I exercise (MMA and Insanity at the same time) I was not able to reach my goal. It felt very frustrated. I felt strong and fit but the pictures didn’t reflect that at all. I tried magazine’s diets, change the routines, lift more weight, I even took supplements lik protein, animal stack and pre-workouts. As you can see, I was trying very hard to have a fit body and it was until I let out all my frustrations with one of my friends, which happened to be a nutritionist, and ‘till then, I was able to understand that all the hard work is worth nothing, if your body is not feed properly. She gave me a customized diet, based on my weight, height, schedule, and of course, my desired goal; to increase muscles, reduced body fat and to have a six pack.

Sounds like a lot to ask right? I mean, I think it is every guy’s goal, and she made it possible within 2 months! I always heard the phrase: “You are what you eat” and it didn’t have meaning until now. It is so true that your fit body depends on 70% food and 30% exercise. I followed the eating plan and the same exercise routine I had and within weeks, I started to notice changes in my body and felt more energetic. After a month, people were complimenting me, and after two months I had the body I always wanted. I could finally take a picture and be proud of what I have accomplished and most importantly, I was able to see the body I always wanted to have. I have been taking courses and reading books to learn more about fitness and now, I am a certified personal trainer. My purpose of Selfyt is to educate and help people like me, to learn how to eat and to exercise and apply it as a lifestyle. Without supplements, muscles can increase and fat can be reduced. I am a perfect example of this theory, and I want people that related to my story, to know that all they need is the right guidance in order to do so. My mistake (extremely exercising and not eating right), is probably the most common on people that are trying have a fit body. You can exercise all you want, but if you don’t feed your body appropriately, all is worth nothing. It has been a year and I still have my fit body. People keep asking me “are you still on your diet” to which I reply: “I am not on a diet, this is my lifestyle”.
