“As a boy, I spent my summers and free time with my dad doing nearly every form of home repair, building and rehabilitation project,” says Bagagem. “After two years of college, I then realized this was my passion and never looked back. Since starting my own business in 2000, we’ve had a steady stream of work that’s included everything from the building of 3,500 sq. ft. luxury estates to high-end kitchen redesigns, decking, roofing and additions. Plus, we’ve never advertised or done any type of marketing. All of our jobs have come from referrals and the word-of-mouth of satisfied clients.” Bagagem recently completed a 600 sq. ft. Ipe deck for Marc McKinley in Tinton Falls, New Jersey. McKinley first learned of Bagagem’s services through his work for several neighbors. As a result, he contracted the expert carpenter to replace his existing 270 sq. ft. cedar deck that was in place at his 2,200 sq. ft. colonial when the home was purchased several years ago.“The existing deck was already warped when we first moved in,” offers McKinley. “So, we were not only interested in greatly increasing our outdoor living space with a high-end look for entertaining, we were concerned about safety and the ongoing use of a deck that would last for years without needing constant maintenance or upkeep.”

The fasteners were specifically developed to provide builders with the means to install perfect and consistent wood plugs in half the time of other plugging methods. The system combines the strength of face screwing with the aesthetics of hidden fastening. “Time is money and while most customers love the finished look of plugged holes, they’re reluctant to pay for the added time and energy it takes to do it correctly,” explains Bagagem.“With the Pro Plug System, it only takes about 20 seconds to drill and plug each hole, which in the end can greatly reduce the overall time to plug an entire deck.” “The only people that enjoy the results more than me are the customers,” says Bagagem. “The system provides beautiful aesthetics in less than half the time it takes to do plugging the traditional way, which means I can also charge less for the same great finish.
