CAMP DIRECTORS: Tom McLoughlin, a graduate of St Joseph’s College of Education in Belfast, Ireland is the current Head Coach of Fairleigh Dickinson University Men’s Soccer Team. He holds the coaching record for most wins, most wins in a season and has been the only FDU men’s soccer coach to have taken the team to post season play, which he has done on numerous occasions - including four out of the five seasons since he has been full time head coach. A licensed USSF coach, ODP coach and author of two soccer books, McLoughlin is a past winner of Freedom Conference Coach of the Year and JUCO Region 19 Coach of the Year. McLoughlin took Union County College Women to the National Finals in their first year of formation. Past Alumni of Tom McLoughlin’s coaching include Norman Whiteside (youngest player ever to play in World Cup), Brian Quinn (US Men’s national team), Tim Howard (US Men’s national team), and Tobin Heath (goal scorer in Women’s World Cup final win.)
Ruairi Lynch is both an FDU assistant coach as well as the director of business development with Cheshire Soccer Academy. An alumni of SUNY Cortland, Coach Lynch has a Master’s of Science in International Sports Management. Coach Lynch is a UEFA B license holder, as well as holding Football Association of Ireland (FAI), United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and National Soccer Coaches of American Association (NSCAA) coaching licenses. He has held senior staff positions with academies on both the west and east coast, enjoying success in Leagues, State Cup and National Tournaments.
Cheshire Soccer Academy (CSA) was founded in 2006 and has fast become a household name for soccer in New Jersey. CSA's Mission is ‘to develop youth soccer players, as both athletes and people, in a positive, encouraging, development based environment’. Utilizing professional coaching staff from America, Europe and across the world, CSA strives to provide a comprehensive training model building on a player’s technical and tactical development. Our academy program offers our players the opportunity to compete at the highest level possible in the TriState area, while also providing a clear pathway towards collegiate programs.
CAMP DETAILS: The High School Prep and College ID Soccer Camp at FDU will provide a challenging and rewarding experience where incoming high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors will improve their technical, tactical, physical and mental sides of the game. The camp staff include head and assistant college coaches, along with experienced full time youth academy coaches. Player development is achieved through curriculum based skill work, small group games and full sided competition. Along with industry leading curriculum and coaching, players will also train and play at some of the area's finest facilities on the FDU campus. Lunch and dinner is provided to over the four days. This High School Prep and College ID Camp is suitable for individuals, teammates or entire teams. CAMPUS LIFE: FDU's Florham Campus is situated in Morris County NJ. The campus consists of 178 acres, part of Florham, a former country estate of early 20th-century socialites Florence Vanderbilt and Hamilton Twombly. FDU has owned the campus since 1958. FDU Florham is primarily a residential campus, supported by a strong student life program.
