The Trocadero apartments at Highlands’ Garden Village, completed in 2002, consist of 74 units in four three-story buildings. The project incorporates a creative design by making each of the four buildings look like a series of individual town homes. Architectural elements from the surrounding neighborhood were included in the design prepared by OZ Architecture. The development’s seventy-four apartments include a mixture of one-and two-bedroom models that range from 700 to 950 square feet, a clubhouse with a health facility, and a conference and business center. 25% percent of the units are affordable to those earning 50% of the Denver area median income. In keeping with the goal of making Highlands’ Garden Village a showcase for environmentally responsible development, the $10 million Trocadero Apartments incorporate green building materials and practices including: energy efficient appliances, boilers and other systems; concrete with a high flyash content; engineered I joists; decking made from recycled materials; dual pane windows and low-VOC paints. The project was constructed by Palace Construction Company, Rose Companies Management provides marketing and management services.
