Highlights from the Press – Maison Roche de Bellene 2015
Maison Roche de Bellene Puligny-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes 2015
[87] Vinous.com Bright pale yellow. Very ripe aromas of peach, spices, flowers and menthol, with a touch of reduction. Supple, spicy wine with an almost exotic quality to its very ripe stone fruit flavors. A touch aggressive with alcohol in the middle palate but with some balancing sweetness. Finishes with a slightly bitter phenolic edge and decent length. September 2017
Maison Roche de Bellene Meursault Premier Cru, Les Charmes 2015
[90] Vinous.com Bright yellow. A distinct step up in complexity and depth from the Roche de Bellene village Meursault, with its peach and hazelnut aromas complicated by spicy, vanillin oak and a floral element. Broad, easygoing and sweet, offering oily stone fruit and spice flavors and considerable early appeal. Has just enough acidity to maintain its balance. Finishes ripe and persistent. It’s hard to imagine that this will ever shut down in the bottle, but I would not want to lose this wine in the cellar. September 2017
