HISPANIC MARRIAGE RETREAT Texas

Last spring, Texas Baptists hosted the first Hispanic Baptist marriage retreat in Fort Worth. The event was a success and reached maximum capacity at 150 couples. As you know, pastors dedicate their lives to serving others and giving of themselves, so they don’t often have the opportunity to receive care and support. That’s why one of the priorities of the event is to enrich the lives of pastors and their wives, so that they can grow closer to Christ and each other and be equipped to help their congregations do the same. “We have more than 1,100 Hispanic churches affiliated with Texas Baptists, and we can’t personally help everyone in the church,” said Texas Baptists Director of Hispanic Ministries Rolando Rodriguez. “But if I can help the pastor and his wife grow in their marriage, I have no doubt that they will be able to impact other couples. That is why events like this are very special. They give us the opportunity to impact the life of the pastor.” The plan is to host the event at a larger vicinity this year, so that many more couples can be served. When we give to the Cooperative Program, we help fund events like this retreat, which strengthen marriages, particularly those of pastors and their wives. Let’s pray for all of the couples who will participate in the marriage retreat this year, that God would continue to bless their relationships with each other and with Him.
